Parent-led trading plan

Agree the numbers before you ever open a broker screen. Write them here, then read them out loud together at the start of every session.

The numbers

  • Risk on one trade£2.00
  • Position size that fits the stop£0.10 per point
  • Worst realistic week−£4.00

If that worst-week figure makes either of you uncomfortable, the account or the risk percentage is too big. Shrink it until the number is genuinely dull.

Session routine

  1. Read the plan numbers out loud, then check nothing major is scheduled today.
  2. Child names the trend, the level, and where the idea stops being right.
  3. Work out the size together from the risk and the stop distance.
  4. Parent places the order. Nobody else touches the keyboard.
  5. Write one sentence about what happened — win or lose — and close the laptop.
